Weekly FX moves: Canadian dollar leads the way

NAFTA news boosts the loonie

It was a twisty-turny week in the foreign exchange market but the Canadian dollar led the way on positive NAFTA news with a bit of help from today’s jobs numbers.

On the flipside was the yen, which lagged after leading the market for much of the year. The story there is risk appetite despite a poor finish to the week. Most global equity indexes had a strong week.
