UK June CBI retailing reported sales 32 vs 10 expected
Latest data release by the CBI – 27 June 2018

- Prior 11
- Total distributive trades 18 vs 17 prior
The readings are an indicator of short-term trends in the retail and wholesale sector of the UK economy.
Retail sales balance jumps to a nine-month high. Looking at the report, orders placed with suppliers rose to a seven-months high and that is one of the bigger contributors to the jump here.
Although a minor data point, it’s one that is a positive for sterling and the UK economic outlook in Q2 moving into Q3 at the very least.
