NY Fed 1Y inflation expectations edge lower to 2.75% in March from 2.83%
3 year edges higher in March.
The NY Fed 1year inflation expectations edged lower, but the three-year edged to the upside:
- 1 year 2.75% from 2.83% in February
- 3 year moved to 2.91% from 2.88% in February.
The survey is from consumer expectations. The survey is based on a rotating panel of about 1200 household heads.

Looking at the 1 year trend (see chart above), the index has moved up from a low in September 2017 at 2.49%. The high in 2017 reached 2.98 in January. The recent highs reached 2.82% in December 2017 and 2.83% last month.
The 3 year has moved up from a 2017 low of 2.47%.
