Fed’s Bullard says he has “no problem” with overshoot on inflation
St Louis Fed president Bullard
- Yield curve inversion close to “crunch time” if Fed keeps raising short-term rates
- Debate over trade policy introduced some uncertainty for businesses but outcome will depend on what changes
- If trade resolved, some upside possible
- Economy is in very good shape
I don’t understand why this ‘overshoot’ debate is even a thing. Central banks everywhere overshoot on inflation all the time. It just happened in the UK and it’s sorted itself out. The Fed shouldn’t even need to address it.
